xFi Pods are capable of extending strong Wi-Fi connection to your PlayStation, Xbox, Smart TVs, or other devices operating on Wi-Fi. xFi Pods are pocket-sized devices that can be plugged into the wall and can be set up within a few minutes. You may use one, or more xFi Pods simultaneously to extend your Wi-Fi range depending on your requirements.

Although the connection process of xFi Podsis pretty simple, most users are facing issues in connecting them. Hence, I decided to create this guide on How to Connect xFi Pods to simplify the entire connection process.

In addition, I will include a few troubleshooting guides at the end to solve questions asked by xFi Pods users. Read this guide till the end to find out more.

How to Connect xFi Pods?

To connect xFi Pods to your home Wi-Fi, you need the xFi Pods and the Xfinity Mobile app. Follow these steps to connect xFi Pods:

Step 1: Log in to the Xfinity mobile app

Open the Xfinity mobile app on your phone and sign in with your Xfinity account or create a new account if you don’t have one. 

Step 2: Open Account Settings

After logging in, tap on the Account tab present at the bottom right corner and select xFi Pods to start pairing.

Step 3: Select xFi Pods from the list to pair 

After logging in, tap on the Account tab present at the bottom right corner and select xFi Pods to start pairing.

Step 4: Activate your xFi Pods

After selecting the correct xFi Pods version, tap on the Get Started button to continue. 

If you already have old generation (Gen 1) pods plugged into the wall, then the app will ask you to first take them out before installing Gen 2 xFi Pods.

Note: It’s recommended that you leave your older 1st Generation Pods unplugged for 48 hours to allow your new Pods to adapt to your coverage needs. After 48 hours, if you still need to extend coverage to other areas in your home, you can re-add your older Pods.

Step 5: Set up your xFi Pods

Plug your first xFi Pod into an electric wall socket and tap on the Next button. Then follow the on-screen instructions on the app and hold your phone at least six inches away from the activated xFi Pod until the setup is finished. 

Note: Do not connect your Pods directly to your xFiGateway using the Ethernet port on the bottom of the Pod.

  • The Pods connect wirelessly to the xFiGateway.
  • You won’t be able to activate your Pods if one is connected directly to the Gateway.

Step 6: Assign a name to your xFi Pods

After the setup is finished, tap on the Name your Pods button to assign a new name to your xFi Pod(s) and hit the Confirm name option to save it.

After completing Step 5, tap the Finish Setup button to complete the setup process. 

How to Set Wi-Fi Mode, Channel, and Channel Width on xFi Pods?

On your xFi Pods, advanced Settings including Wi-Fi Mode, Channel, and Channel Width will be managed automatically.

How to Check if my xFi Pods are Activated?

Once your xFi Pods are connected to the Wi-Fi, the notification light will stop flashing and will automatically turn off.

How to Remove xFi Pods?

If you are planning to remove xFi Pods from your Wi-Fi network for reasons like no more use, exchanging or replacing, or giving them away to someone else, then follow these steps to remove them:

Step 1: Open the Xfinity mobile app

Launch the Xfinity mobile app on your phone and log in with your account.

Step 2: Select xFi Pods to remove

Tap on the Devices option from the bottom toolbar and select xFi Pods to choose the pods you wish to remove. 

Step 3: Remove xFi Pods 

After selecting xFi Pods you wish to remove, scroll down to the bottom and select the Remove Pod option to remove it. 

Tip: You can repeat this process if you wish to remove additional xFi Pods from your network.

1. Download the Xfinity and head over to the Support section to raise a ticket. 

2. Log on to Xfinity’s Support page and select the device for which you need a solution.
